An Update on Changes at Canonbury

25th February 2013

Dear Parents,

Further to my letter of the 5th February, explaining the changes being undertaken at Canonbury, I am pleased to announce that James Wiltshire will be the Acting Headteacher of Canonbury Primary School from February 25th 2013 to 31st August 2013. This temporary period reflects, as some of you will remember, the time when Matt Britt will be acting as Executive Headteacher, working for three days a week to support Copenhagen Primary School.

James Wiltshire has been working as Director of Standards at Canonbury, since September 2011 and worked with the school on a consultancy basis prior to this. I am sure you will join with me in congratulating James and wishing him all the best as he takes on his new position.

James will work alongside our substantive Deputy Headteacher, Diane Thompson and Matt in his Executive Headteacher role, to ensure that Canonbury continues to improve upon the journey to becoming an outstanding school.

Our Senior Teachers will become Assistant Headteachers during the same period, to reflect the additional leadership responsibilities they will have to take on. Their roles as senior teachers will however remain the same.

We have also been able to receive some additional teaching support for Key Stage 2 for the summer term as part of the resources made available to Canonbury through the agreement. James will let you know more details about this before the Easter holiday.
We thought it was important to keep you fully informed about this development as soon as we could.

If you have any further questions please contact Matt or James.

Kind regards,

Andy Jennings
Chair of Governors
