At Canonbury we expect pupils to read daily at home for at least 20 minutes.

Alongside this children will receive weekly homework. In the junior years this will involve literacy and Numeracy homework and in the infant years is usually literacy though may involve some basic facts maths work.

Homework in Key stage 2 is set on a Thursday and returned on a Monday. The 'Termly Letter to Parents' outlines the topics and areas of study for the term. Please support your childs learning by encouraging discussion around what is being learnt at school.

Homework may also be set through extra provision groups your child may be involved with. We appreciate your help in supporting the completion of this work.

Learning common spelling words and basic facts are always helpful to support and embed the learning your child is doing in the classroom.
