What is Parentlink?
ParentLink is a forum which enables parents and carers to hear about and discuss plans for the school. Each meeting has a topic which is presented by members of the school leadership team and staff. Typically there are two meeting per term and past topics have included art, music, handwriting and literacy.
Typically ParentLink meetings run for one and half hours, starting after morning drop-off in the school’s ground floor hall. For this school year we have provisionally planned the following sessions:
Thursday 4th October 9.00 a.m. - Homework
Tuesday 27th November 9.00 a.m. Art at Canonbury
Thursday January 24th 9.00 a.m. – Sport and wellbeing
As well as an opportunity to explore topics, each session also provides an opportunity for broader questions to be raised, although it should be stressed this is not a forum for raising specific concerns about your child and/or their class. Minutes of each meeting are published on the Canonbury School website, so even if you are not able to attend you can see what was presented, discussed and agreed.
Who can attend Parentlink meetings?
All parents and carers of pupils at Canonbury School are welcome to attend all the meetings.
How can I contribute to the meeting?
You can e-mail the chairperson of Parentlink, Andy (Tam) Iwaniec, at any time on andy.iwaniec@blueyonder.co.uk, or leave a note at the school office. The chairperson can raise a point on your behalf, if you wish.
We look forward to welcoming you to Parentlink meetings, an important part of the school community.
